Stampingpals Challenge #2

For the month of April, the challenge is a sketch (see below).  It's a pretty easy one but that's just as well since life has been turned upside down for all of us during the COVID-19 pandemic.  I'm doing my part by staying in and keeping safe, and I feel blessed to be on an island where we have no confirmed cases.  So, I'm stamping as much as I like!

I'm going to miss these adorable stamp sets from Stampin' Up!'s Sale-a-bration special.  I love the Umbrella set and punch with the Hostess-only Ladybug set.  I use this yearly Sale-a-bration sale to stock up on my card stock, adhesives, and to purchase my 12-month subscription to the amazing monthly Paper Pumpkin kits.  I love getting FREE stamping supplies!!

The only blessing from this time off of work is that I'm sending many cards to friends and family.  I hope these cards cheer them a bit and remind them how much they are loved.

StampingPals Challenge #16 - Sympathy card

  I've got to say that sympathy cards have always been hard for me to make.  They are not for a fun occasion, and well, it kind of brought me down to make them.  And then I realized that these cards bring such comfort to the recipient at a time when they need it most.  And so now I don't focus on the "sympathy", I focus on making a lovely card which will carry a message of love and support.  This slight change in thinking has made me really appreciate the gift of making and sending sympathy cards. My monthly Zoom class for May featured this sympathy card as part of our Quiet Meadow theme.  The base is Evening Evergreen and the DSP is from the Hand-Penned suite.  The heartfelt sentiment is the only stamping done on this card (using Evening Evergreen).  I added one die cut from the Meadow Dies (cut into pieces) and a White Crinkled Seam Ribbon bow.  For a bit of shine, three Opal Rounds were added as a final touch.  I love the new In Colors of Evening Evergreen and the

StampingPals Challenge #8 - Pack a Punch

  Sometimes I overthink things and really need to just keep it simple.  I think this card works. For StampingPals Challenge #8 - Pack a Punch, the challenge was to use a craft punch to create our card.  I love the shapes that can be used without stamping.  This daisy can be used with or without the stamped images.  And I love the simplicity of it. The In Good Taste DSP is totally my fave this year and it looks great on all sorts of cards.  So classic! I love these challenges because everyone seems to have a totally different take on what to use and how to use it.  That's the beauty of stamping.  We can use the same idea and do it differently, or the same supplies, or whatever, and yet they all come out uniquely our own.  I hope you try it with us.  Hop on over to www.stampingpals.com and see what the others have created!
