StampingPals Challenge #16 - Sympathy card

Image
I've got to say that sympathy cards have always been hard for me to make.  They are not for a fun occasion, and well, it kind of brought me down to make them.  And then I realized that these cards bring such comfort to the recipient at a time when they need it most.  And so now I don't focus on the "sympathy", I focus on making a lovely card which will carry a message of love and support.  This slight change in thinking has made me really appreciate the gift of making and sending sympathy cards. My monthly Zoom class for May featured this sympathy card as part of our Quiet Meadow theme.  The base is Evening Evergreen and the DSP is from the Hand-Penned suite.  The heartfelt sentiment is the only stamping done on this card (using Evening Evergreen).  I added one die cut from the Meadow Dies (cut into pieces) and a White Crinkled Seam Ribbon bow.  For a bit of shine, three Opal Rounds were added as a final touch.  I love the new In Color...

StampingPals Challenge #15 - Color Challenge (Highland Heather, Pumpkin Pie & Melon Mambo)

Image
The new Stampin' Up! catalog is being released on May 4, 2021, and it's a great one!  I personally love whimsical images and the new Party Puffins stamp set has already captured my heart!  I truly love black and white with bursts of bright color so these images are perfect for this month's color challenge which honestly had me a little stumped. I even paired these bold images with a sweetly soft background paper and Highland Heather cardstock as the base.  The patterned paper is part of the new Hand-Penned DSP package.  I'll be demoing the Hand-Penned Suite during a Facebook Catalog Kickoff Party on May 22, and I'll be giving away the Party Puffins stamp set so contact me if you would like more information on that! To make this card, I colored the image with Blends, heat embossed the "Make A Wish" saying, and added some new In Color jewels.  Easy-peasy, and so cute! StampingPals Challenge #14 Sketch Challenge with Playful Pets - Super cute card with no stamping at all!

Image
I love a good sketch challenge!  It prompts me to make a design that's a little out of my wheelhouse.  I admit that I tend to stick with basic card designs but that's why I *LOVE* stamping!  You can make the same design again and again with different supplies and it will look different each time.  I'm sure the other cards made for this challenge will be quite different than mine. I chose the Playful Pets stamp set because it was the Stamp Of The Month for my On-Line Zoom Event.  I honestly don't think you can make a card with these papers that isn't adorable. The dog image was cut with scissors from the Playful Pets DSP I used the largest circle from the Stitched Shapes Dies and the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder (both retiring this month!) And the ribbon and heart embellishment are part of the Playful Pets suite. This was super easy, quick, and yet still makes me smile when I look at it.  I hope it makes you smile too!  More card designs are ...

StampingPals Challenge #13 Super Easy Fabulous Fold Card using Beautiful World stamp set

Image
Want to know the BEST THING about this Fabulous Fold card??  It's super easy.  Honestly, I've made dozens of them and they are fast and easy to create!  And so colorful!! Sometimes I buy a lot of Designer Series Paper.  And then I cannot possibly use it all (uh, don't mention that to my hubby, okay?)  This card uses a half sheet of 12 x 12 DSP and you get to enjoy BOTH sides of the beautiful paper. Okay, I know you want to make one so here's how... Take one 5.5" x 12" piece of DSP, and score at 4.25" and 8.5" from the same short end. Fold at the score lines (accordion style) to make your card base. Add a 4" x 5.25" piece of white cardstock as shown for your personal message. (in this example, I cut a flower from a scrap of the same DSP to add a little more decoration.) The Bumblebee edging uses the Peony dies. And I used a saying from the Beautiful World stamp set with the 2" and 2.25" circle punches. So easy, right?  And it fit...

StampingPals Challenge #12 - Favorite Technique - Darling Donkeys & Approaching Perfection

Image
Are you enjoying Stampin' Up!'s Saleabration??  I am loving it!  This card uses TWO FREE PRODUCTS (Darling Donkeys & Approaching Perfection stamp sets), both only available until February 28.  I chose these sets for  StampingPals monthly challenge (February 2021) which is to use my favorite technique.   So what's the technique?  Using the fabulous new blending brushes from SU!  They are SO easy to use and the blending is more consistent and flawless with these brushes.  They come in a set of three and can be cleaned and reused to your heart's content. This stamping is as simple as I can manage.  I love layers and DSP and ribbons but I ditched all of that for this simple design.  The base is thick white cardstock.  I used the blending brush with Bermuda Bay ink to make the hazy cloud around the donkey.  The donkey is colored with Blends and adhered with dimensionals.  The saying is from the fun Approaching P...
