Saipan Stamper

  Are you enjoying Stampin' Up!'s Saleabration??  I am loving it!  This card uses TWO FREE PRODUCTS (Darling Donkeys & Approaching Perfection stamp sets), both only available until February 28.  I chose these sets for  StampingPals monthly challenge (February 2021) which is to use my favorite technique.   So what's the technique?  Using the fabulous new blending brushes from SU!  They are SO easy to use and the blending is more consistent and flawless with these brushes.  They come in a set of three and can be cleaned and reused to your heart's content. This stamping is as simple as I can manage.  I love layers and DSP and ribbons but I ditched all of that for this simple design.  The base is thick white cardstock.  I used the blending brush with Bermuda Bay ink to make the hazy cloud around the donkey.  The donkey is colored with Blends and adhered with dimensionals.  The saying is from the fun Approaching P...

  For the December StampingPals Challenge #10 (Sketch Challenge - see below for sketch), I was playing with some soon-to-be-released products that I pre-ordered with early access as a perk of attending Stampin' Up!'s On Stage Virtual Event.  What a great bonus for being a demonstrator!! You'll love the new Many Messages stamp set and the Dandy Cut Laser Paper that will be available in the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog.  I used one 6" x 6" sheet of DSP from the Flowers For Every Season paper pack (#152486) cut in half to 3" x 6".  One piece was used on the flap of the envelope and one on the card base for a perfectly coordinated surprise that will be mailed to some lucky recipient.    For StampingPals Challenge #9 (Christmas Theme), I immediately reached for the Dove Of Hope stamp set.  It seems so very appropriate in these difficult times to remind us all of the need for peace and hope.  The images in this set are clean and simple and I've loved every project I've made with it!   Sometimes I overthink things and really need to just keep it simple.  I think this card works. For StampingPals Challenge #8 - Pack a Punch, the challenge was to use a craft punch to create our card.  I love the shapes that can be used without stamping.  This daisy can be used with or without the stamped images.  And I love the simplicity of it. The In Good Taste DSP is totally my fave this year and it looks great on all sorts of cards.  So classic! I love these challenges because everyone seems to have a totally different take on what to use and how to use it.  That's the beauty of stamping.  We can use the same idea and do it differently, or the same supplies, or whatever, and yet they all come out uniquely our own.  I hope you try it with us.  Hop on over to www.stampingpals.com and see what the others have created! The August Challenge for our StampingPals group used a sketch which was easy enough to follow.  Elegant and simple is always good, right?  I'll always keep and use this Timeless Tropical set since I live on a tropical island.  It's so perfect for any occasion.  And during this pandemic, I've sent loads of "just because" cards to family and friends.  There's not much we can do to make this worldwide situation any easier but we CAN send a little cheer in the mail.
